We've been wanting to go to Bistro San Martin for a while now, and last night we finally had the opportunity to do so. I wish we would have come sooner because this bistro is a hidden gem in historic Downtown arlington. The inside is very nice, the tables aren't crowded, and the kitchen is exposed so you can see the chefs working real time. The menu has a good variety of dishes and there's always specials that vary from time to time. Our waitress was so nice, answered all the questions we had about the menu, and always made sure our drinks were topped off. And she gave us extra bread, we didn't even have to ask! The dipping oil was high quality and the bread had a crunch flaky crust with a super soft interior, truly impressive bread. We got the gnudi ravioli for an appetizer, and it was like eating soft pillows with a delicious red orange sauce and crunchy breadcrumbs. I got the corn bisque soup, whihch was impressive. For entrées, the lamb was slightly overcooked, but the quality of the lamb chop trumped the doneness with its incredible tenderness and flavor.y wife got the filet mignon, and she was accommodated with replacing the Bleu cheese butter with garlic butter. Our vegetables were slightly Al dente (perfect) and the mash potatoes were a nice texture, albeit it not as salty or buttery as I like. The lemon creme Brule was awesome to cap off the night! Clean bathrooms as well, we'll be back soon!

We had some wonderful friends invite us to dinner here. The food was beautiful and everyone enjoyed every bite. I'm a vegetarian and was able to find suitable items for every course and our waitress was very accommodating. Its a truly unassuming little place from the outside. I would have never guessed we had such a lovely restaurant right in Arlington.

Excellent food presentation. Great food choices and wine selection. The shrimp and crab cocktail was good with decent cocktail sauce. The filets were cooked perfectly but not the best. The halibut was juicy and had a great sauce with great rice. It is our fourth time there and am never let down on quality or on service. If you noticed, this is rated one of the top restaurants in the Arlington area.

Exquisite! This is our new favorite restaurant in the area. The clams off the fresh sheet were prepared in a very unique and tasty way in a creamy red sauce with leeks. They were divine. The escargot were also great. Even their house baked bread and compound oil left us stunned. The New York strip with compound butter and Demi glace were to die for and the Maine lobster tail was tender and delicate. The service was also so friendly and quick! Your server prepares your drinks which results in them coming out quick! They also have fun wine flights so you can try a few at a time. The restaurant is very clean with interesting paintings and the kitchen is front and center for a good view. We can't wait to go back!

Food and staff were amazing. Great flavors all around. Their fish was phenomenal and the naughty chocolate cake was a fun treat with a mix of sweet and spice. I didn't take a pic of the seafood bisque but it was one of the best I've had! Lovely atmosphere. That little flower holder is so creative. Neat touches.

My wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary since we’ve been wanting to try this place, and it was amazing! We made reservations beforehand and were seated quickly. The atmosphere was cozy and they had a great wine selection. We had the cheese and fruit board for an appetizer (along with the complimentary bread). My wife had the steak and I had the roasted duck. Both dishes were quite plentiful and cooked to perfection. We also had dessert (she had the chocolate cake and I had the lemon crème brûlée) which were both amazing. The restaurant itself was a great experience and the chef made certain to thank us and each customer as they left. We’ll definitely return again!

We been going for a few years . Yesterday we celebrated our 10 year anniversary there and it was like every other time. Amazing as always. The steak and lobster I got was perfectly cooked. We don't eat duck often but my husband gets this one that cook with peach and cherries he loves it. The strawberry rhubarb prawns are a must every time and we like the affogato ice cream for dessert, but also got a second one that is not always available the apple galette...it was so worth it. Leftovers today were amazing.

I had heard of this restaurant for several years. Although not too far from my home it was not really on my radar. My misfortune. Bistro San Martin is a small restaurant located in the old downtown area of Arlington. A pleasant sight on it's own. The restaurant features a just right menu of Northwest American, with a dash of European flair. I realize that description makes no sense, let me just say that the menu has a decent selection of dishes to fit every palate. This evening we tried a sweet potatoes soup, which had a unique and delicious flavor. We could taste all the ingredients, sweet potato, leeks, sweet corn and more. Fantastic. Pastry puff mushrooms with a tiny added sauce that was very very good. Halibut with an incredible risotto and sweet and sour salsa. Flat iron steak perfectly cooked and flavored. Delicious crab cakes. Too full for desert. Maybe next time. Our server was great. Very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions. Decor is very nice. Prices reflect a fine dining experience. If you can, go now and go often.
